The big decision, of course, is whether to repair the windows or replace the windows. For those with old and outdated single-pane windows, the option of replacement would probably be the way to go. With newer double pane windows, it may be different. Clearly, replacing windows is a more expensive option than repairing. But once properly repaired, existing windows could continue to provide long-term benefits – like energy efficiency, lower heating and cooling costs, and improved indoor home comfort.
